A doula is a birth professional who offers physical, emotional, and informational support to expectant and new parents.
Doulas help empower and care for birthing people and their families throughout the childbearing process. We advocate for your choices, but do not advise or make decisions for you. Doulas are trained to provide research-based resources so that parents can make educated decisions that are best for their family. While we do not perform any clinical or medical tasks, we can always provide resources or referrals for situations that fall outside our scope of practice.
Our goal is for you to feel heard, prioritized, and supported through labor, delivery, and postpartum.
Beth Melling has always had a passion for helping develop children and families.
She began her professional career as an educator, but after completing her teaching degree, the traditional school environment just didn't resonate. She continued to work with children and families as a nanny, a gymnastics, dance and kids yoga instructor, a homeschool tutor, and a Tinkergarten Leader. These roles opened new opportunities for growth, and in 2021, Beth discovered the world of birth work.
As a doula, Beth is able to support families as they emerge and to encourage empowered and educated parenting from the very beginning. She believes that all types of birth are valid, and that parents deserve to feel fully supported as they work to make the best decisions for their families.
